Bedrooms

A space of your own at King’s

King’s College prides itself on providing the best residential college facilities – and that includes our bedrooms. Every student lives in a single room, which comes fully furnished with the essentials: a long single bed (minimum), desk, desk lamp, wireless internet connection, wardrobe, and bookcase. Make your room feel like home by bringing your own bed linen, TV, a small fridge and computer 鈥� the electricity is free!

It goes without saying that your room is an important part of your life, but you will find that your flat and bathroom are significant meeting places. Getting to know your flat is a unique aspect of College life. Students will often recount that their favourite memories are those when residents opened up their rooms and congregated in the corridors for informal gatherings, laughter and entertainment. It鈥檚 often during these times that you develop powerful friendships and life-long memories.

    A single room with a private ensuite bathroom. Available to new members who have medical requirements and require private facilities.

Dining Hall

The Heart of the College

The King鈥檚 Dining Hall is the heart of the College community where you鈥檒l never go hungry for food or company. King鈥檚 values the opportunity to gather during meal times and discuss academic endeavours, sporting triumphs or simply catch up with fellow students.

Our catering team not only prides itself on providing three outstanding meals per day but on the fact that at听King鈥檚 you get to serve your own food. In addition, we make sure you don鈥檛 go hungry outside of meal times by ensuring the King’s Cafe serves delicious food and barista made coffee throughout the morning and supper is available in the evening. Flexible meal packages are available also.

If you have commitments during lunch time you can make a packed lunch at breakfast and take it with you. For those committed to university sports training, early or late classes or work commitments, late dinners can be pre-ordered and available in the Dining Hall when you return.

At set times each semester we have formal dinners to celebrate King鈥檚 achievements or to hear from special guest speakers. These are formal nights giving us all a chance to dress up, listen to insightful speakers, and enjoy an elegant meal.

Each day our continental breakfast includes cereal, toast, yoghurt and fruit and the ever popular hot breakfast provides a cycle of delicious foods including pastries, eggs and bacon.

Lunch

Each day there is also a hot food option and a range of salad, meat, cheese and bread. Fresh fruit is also available.

Not able to make it to lunch? No problem! A large range of lunch foods are available for you to make a听Packed Lunch听during breakfast hours.

Dinner

Weekdays 5:30pm to 7pm听

Weekends 5pm to 6:30pm 听

As with our other main meals dinner is a generous self-serve of delicious hot food and a range of salads.

Can鈥檛 make Dinner? Sign up for a late meal that you can have once you return from practice or classes.

Recreation & Learning Facilities

King’s has the best facilities at of any College.

King’s College provides accommodation for 355 men and women attending a Brisbane-based university. The College operates as an academic residential community of undergraduate and postgraduate members drawn from country and suburban areas throughout Australia as well as many other nations.

King鈥檚 has some of the best facilities of any residential college in Australia. in addition to our state of the art living spaces, facilities also include a well-equipped gymnasium (including weights and cardio rooms), swimming pool, rowing shed and pontoon, 24 hour access to technology, tutorial/study rooms, Old Collegians’ Learning Centre, half basketball court with barbeque facilities and car-parks. The Common Room is equipped with large Smart TV, table tennis tables and the King’s Bar and Lounge a full-sized Billiard table.
